But precious few drops to drink. There is a popular misconception that there is plenty of fresh water for all people. It is easy to take a long hot shower, and not think about the million showers draining the rivers, choking out the fish. Fresh water is a limited resource that makes up only 2.5% of the Earth&#8217;s Water. Only 1% is readily available, with only .3% drinkable. And we waste it. We pollute it with chemicals from industries like fracking. The hormones from birth control pills are not removed in average municipal water treatment. And plastic water bottles are worse with the leached endocrine disruptors.When I was considering the source of water pollution, I learned the primary source is often home use. There is more pesticide and fertilizer runoff from households, than from factory farms.
